About Guthega Inn
Guthega Inn is located mountainside on the western edge of Perisher Resort, overlooking the Snowy River and Guthega Dam, with panoramic views from Mount Kosciuszko to Mount Twynam. Tucked away in the peaceful Guthega area, it is a true Snowy Mountains classic, offering a warm alpine atmosphere in one of the most scenic pockets of Kosciuszko National Park. It’s a favourite for guests seeking a quieter mountain experience while still being close to the action.
Known for its welcoming lodge-style charm, the inn combines cosy interiors, hearty dining, and stunning high-country views. The on-site restaurant and bar are a highlight, providing a relaxed space to unwind after a day outdoors—whether that’s skiing in winter or hiking, biking, and exploring in the warmer months.
Guthega Inn offers ski-in and ski-out through winter and direct access to the Illawong Hiking Trail and the Guthega to Charlottes Pass walk in summer.
With its unique location, Guthega Inn offers a more secluded feel than the main resort centres, making it perfect for those who appreciate nature, fresh mountain air, and a friendly, laid-back alpine vibe.

It's Good To Know:
Due to the semi-remote location there are a few things guests should be aware of during your stay.
The Location
Guthega is a semi-remote village on the western edge of Perisher Resort. The Resort offers ski-in and ski-out when snowfalls permit and links to the Perisher Resort via the Blue Calf T-Bar. We recommend checking the Perisher website or download the Perisher App for updates to links and trails. If the links are closed it is an approximate 35min drive (in good conditions) to Perisher from Guthega Inn.
Ski-in and Ski-out
When snowfall permits guests ski-in via the Norwegian Trail and ski-out via the Blue Calf T-Bar which is 250m south.
Is Guthega Inn Suitable for Beginner Skiers/Snowboarders
As long as you book a private lesson, and call to request the instructor begin the lesson at Guthega Inn, it is suitable. Alternatively, you can drive around to Perisher or Smiggin Holes (approx 35min drive in good conditions). Without a lesson, it is a challenging place to stay for a beginner.
Room Service
There is no room service nor are rooms tidied daily. A room tidy can be done upon request.
Laundry
There are no on-site laundry services except for emergencies only.
Hot Water
Operating within the Kosciuszko National Park, there is a need to be particularly vigilant to environmental concerns. As such, the diesel boilers operating in the hotel when we purchased the Inn in May 2023 have been decommissioned.
Our remoteness also brings resource challenges such as power and water and requires us to operate sustainably.
The substantial limitations from the power grid bring additional challenges during winter when there is an increased need for hot water and warmth. To address all of these resource challenges we have adopted the latest technology by installing a heat pump system, backed up by the gas fireplace in the restaurant area. We also allocate specific times when the heat pumps move from prioritising warming the hotel to providing hot water for 2 hour windows in the morning and evening for showers.
We ask guests to be conscious of the environment especially when holidaying in a national park and to therefore minimise shower times, energy usage & water consumption.
Shower Steam and Smoke Alarms
Smoke alarms cannot distinguish between steam and smoke. The Inn incurs an accidental fire alarm fine of $1,680 every time it is tripped, so guests are advised that doors to ensuite bathrooms MUST be closed when showering/bathing.
We hope you acknowledge these are small inconveniences for the pleasure of staying in a remote location and we thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
