Driving to Thredbo

Whatever your preference in getting to the Thredbo, On Snow Reservations are happy to help you find the best possible way for you and your group to help take the hassle out of organising your holiday! The NSW Snowfields are easy to get to with direct flights from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane to Canberra. From there, you can either hire a car or catch a coach transfer to the snow.

Snow Chains: It is a requirement that all vehicles except 4WDs carry properly fitting chains at all times when travelling in the Kosciuszko National Park during snow season. Chains can be hired at most service stations in Cooma and Jindabyne, or we can organize them for you from our Jindabyne Hire Partner.

Getting around the resort: Thredbo provides a free shuttle bus which travels continually around the resort during winter.

Kosciuszko National Park entry: You will be required to pay an entry fee for the National Park (Thredbo lies inside the National Park). Day and multi day passes are available from the park gate or the NPWS Visitors Centre in Jindabyne.
Visit the National Parks website for Park Entry Fees.
Annual passes can only be purchased online on the National Parks website prior to arrival or at the NPWS Visitors Centre in Jindabyne; they are not available at the park gate.

Parking: There is FREE parking available in the Friday Flat car park.

Coach Transfers

Snoexpress is a convenient and affordable coach service from Canberra to Jindabyne, Perisher, and Thredbo. Snoexpress will drop you right at the resorts – no need to jump on the Skitube – and NSW National Park entry is included in all fares.
